With the Toronto snow storm (code named snow-mageddon) settling in nicely I have some time to give a quick update on where we stand with Robot. Our pilot project is a simple spaceframe type tower
Steel is exported from RST into Robot, analyzed, sized (or re-sized), sent back to RST and the contract documents will be updated accordingly! As for concrete foundations, after a little discussion with the engineer who's our point man with Robot it looks like we will be able to use Robot to size footings & piers, add the rebar, then send to RST with all the geometry intact ready for sectioning and annotations...We are pretty ecstatic, this looks like a slick pipeline. It will give us (a small firm) the ability to compete with some of the bigger firms.
